Car hire is cheap, and a good idea to get around and see the rest of the island.

Don't bother driving around the main island. There is nothing worth seeing except for the 30 mins cable car ride up and down the 708m high mountains.

If you're hoping to look for more interesting restaurants somewhere on the island besides the Rasa Restaurant along Pantai Cenai, there is no other. The hotel itself serves pretty good food if you don't mind paying for it.

The massage at the Sandy Spa was a huge disappointment. I felt like I was being basted with oil, that's all. Not relaxing at all. Aromatherapy oil? Forget it, it's only olive oil with a hint of aroma oil.

Perfect destination for a beachholiday, with possibilities for activities like hiking, siteseeing, watersports etc. Easy to reach by plane.

The place is great for relaxing. The beaches are nice and sandy! The water isn't blue and crystal clear but is clean and warm and good to swim in. There are a collection of islands and the scenery is spectacular. It's worth taking a boat trip and visiting the islands.

Langkawi has beautiful white sandy beaches and we enjoyed the watersports such as Parasailing (RM80) and the banana boat ride (RM30) at Cabana Beach. You should take the new cable car ride up and see bird's eye view of Lankawi at only RM15. It's a steal.

We also loved the ecological tour that brought us to bat caves, viewing of flying foxes, fish feeding in the Ocean, mangrove swamps with cute little colourful crabs and the best of all, EAGLE FEEDING right in front of us! There are probably 50-100 eagles swooping to get the food.

Food and batik are in abundance in Langkawi but probably not the place for shopaholics unless you are into chocolate. We were lucky to visit the 1km long night market at Kuah Town. It only operates on Wed and Sat from 6pm onwards.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Langkawi and intend to return for fishing trips and snokelling with more people in the near future.

Hired a car for RM50 per day at the airport. You can drive around Langkawi Island fairly easily without getting lost. Went on the Cable Car, but unfortunately due to the smokey skies at the time, it wasn't a very good view. Went shopping in Kuah, some great bargains to be had.

Ideal beach location. Laid back and informal.

Very convenient, 15 min walk to the aquarium, "Bon Ton" is very close, and a lot of possibilities for different food around the hotel.

There wasn't really enough wind to take out sailing dinghies but hiring a car and exploring the island was worthwhile.

Langkawi is a very beautiful island but having visited 3 years ago we were disappointed to find the beaches had significantly deteriorated and no-one was making much effort to clean them up! The rest of the island is gorgeous - recommend getting a motorbike/car and getting around the island.
