Recommend Gandhi Restaurant in Little India, just around the corner from MRT Little India. Great food, served on banana leaf.

Plenty of eateries off North Bridge Road (City Hall MRT) - towards the direction of Middle Road. Try the soup restaurant on Seah Street, famous for their delicious "Samsui" chicken served with lettuce and special ginger sauce. Pub/Restaurants on Leang Siah street serves western sytle set meals at good value.

Good location. Kopitiam (food court) and 7 eleven just across the road. Orchard road and Parco Bugis Junction just within walking distance. No busy traffic like you find in Orchard road or China Town.

Because of the hotels very central position in downtown Singapore it is a must. You can easy go Orchard Road, Raffles and the Boat and Clarke Quay areas, as it lies with walking distance. And as all these wonderful areas are filled with shopping malls, if you don't know how else to fill our your time, then Hotel Rendevouz is the place to stay.

My first time in Singapore. Good location, only short taxi ride to Orchard Road and a few MRT stops from Clarkes Quay area and Raffles Hotel. Recommend the Maxwell hawker centre 800 yards from hotel for authentic food and a glimse of Singapore life! So cheap as well. Try the Burkit Timar nature reserve if you are quite fit-lowland rainforest in the heart of Singapore. Only there 3 days could have spent longer. Clean well run safe are words that describe the country.

Most memorable experiences in Singapore were definitely the animatronics in what was the WW2 Far East Command Centre, and the new Asian Civilizations Museum. The latter is huge and truly beautiful. Also memorable was going home with a case of Salmonella. Watch what you eat!

Lau Pasat excellent value and nice to eat sea food with locals. The Zoo is worth a good day out and the shopping is a must favouate mall is Suntec City next to the Oriental. Sentosa Island is begining to look a little tired and could do with a bit of investment. The City Tour bus from Suntec City offer a good orientation tour for a few dollars. Cabs are extremely cheap.

Singapore is a great example of colonialism gone right. People were really nice and friendly. Clean and orderly, Singaporeans pride themselves of their country. World-class shopping is almost obscene in its abundance-ditto for places to eat and drink. Gay scene was refreshingly non-uptight, and the guys were handsome and professional and very friendly. (I met a wonderful guy there who might just be 'the one'.) Museums are nice-particularly the Asian Civilizations near the Victoria Theater and the Fullerton Hotel. (Stop at the Fullerton for a drink.) Take a boat ride round the harbor and through the city that can be caught by 'Hooters' restaurant on the waterfront (Hooters was a nice place to have a drink and some appetizers while waiting for the boat-the waitress was really nice). Orchard Road has more shopping and is similar to Madison Avenue in NYC. The zoo is not so great, but I hear the Night Safari is the ticket to take. The subway is really easy and is the way to get around the city. The Esplanade is a nice, waterfront place to go have a meal. Chinatown is great too, but beware of local (mostly Indian) tailors who will rip you off. With so many places to eat, just pick one and chances are it will be great. Little India was a dissapointment but the people were very friendly and lovely.

Shopping centres : DC Mall & Mega Mall are the bigger ones. Haircut + color (long hair) + mani + pedi is only SGD46 at Johnny Andrean.

We used the MRT everywhere - apart from when completely exhausted, then the taxis were cheap and friendly. We visited everything there was to see. The temples were peaceful, beautiful, and tourist free - it was like another world. Singapore is the cleanest place on earth - even the public toilets in Chinatown were spotless. Recommend eating in the restaurants in Chinatown - food was terrific. Even eating from street vendors was safe and clean. Singapore people very friendly and go out of their way to help. The Japanese buffet at Suntec City is not to be missed. Also the bumboat tour from Clarke Quay was good (ALTHOUGH A BIT HARD ON THE BUM).
