"Argentina is a fabulous travel destination with a better tourist infrastructure than neighboring Brazil and Chile. Bariloche and Iguazu are a must. In Iguazu stay at the Sheraton Hotel within the Park, 2 days is more than enough to see the falls. In Bariloche make sure to rent a car and get out into the wilds of the lake district. The views are breathtaking! Bariloche itself is only the gateway to the surrounding area and not much as a destination unto itself.
The currency crisis has made food ridiculously cheap though gasoline, car rental and other imported hard-currency items will be at normal prices. If you expect to consume any imported items, in my case cigars and nuts, be aware that they cost much more than in US - Europe due to import taxes. It was a very unpleasant surprise to find that the cost of my cigar after dinner cost more than the entire dinner with wine!
